Manager's Page

Welcome to the NABF Charles M. Blackburn Major Division World Series hosted by the Lombard Orioles and the Beecher Muskies.

The pre-tournament meeting of the managers will take place at the Holiday Inn in Carol Stream (150 S. Gary Ave) on Wednesday, July 30. Registration begins at 2:30pm. The meeting begans at 3:00pm. Bring your team roster and certificate of insurance. In addition, remind your players that each one must have a photo ID available if called upon.

The World Series will be governed by the NABF Constitution, By-laws, and Tournament Rules 20-23-2024 manual. In addition:

  1. The first team listed in the pool play schedule (the team on top) will use the third base dugout while the second team listed takes the first base dugout and will call the coin flip to determine the home team (which will take place at least 30 minutes before game time.) For each game in the championship tournament, the higher seeded team will take the third-base dugout; the lower seeded team will take the first-based dug out and call the flip.
  2. We will be using Game Changer throughout the tournament. Each manager is responsible for making sure the roster on game changer represents his official roster.
  3. The umpire's meeting will take place five minutes prior to game time.
  4. Line-up cards must be filled in advance and given to the umpire, official scorer, and the opposing team.
  5. Pool play games will be seven innings. The quarter-final games of the tournament championship will be seven innings; the semi-finals and finals will be nine innings.
  6. Line-up changes must be reported to the home plate umpire.

  7. With respect to extra-innings, in pool play each extra inning will begin with a man on second base. In the single elimination, championship tournament this will not be the case.

  8. Pre-Game BP Schedule: 90 minutes before game time, the batting cage will be open for 30 minutes to the first team listed, followed by 30 minutes for the second team listed. BP will be limited to those times. There will be no pregame infield/outfield.

  9. First and third base coaches must wear a helmet.

  10. The top two teams in each pool will advance to the single-elimination championship tournament. The tie-breaker criteria for the two teams advancing out of each pool is Wins | Head to Head | Runs Allowed | Runs Scored | Coin Flip.

  11. The six teams advancing to the single-elimination championship tournament will be seeded one through six as follows: Wins | Runs Allowed | Runs Scored | Coin Flip.

  12. Check out the NABF Constitution, By-laws, and Tournament Rules 20-23-2024 manual for much, much more.
